Vermiglio

Vermiglio is the westernmost of the Municipality Val di Sole and it is placed on the road that leads to Ossana Passo del Tonale. There are four districts that make it up: Cortina, Fraviano, Pizzano and Borgonuovo, all attached to each other as to give the impression of being a single country. Until a few years ago the economy was directed mainly to pasture because, given the altitude, the cultivation of cereals and fruit trees was prohibitive.
The turning point occurred through the development of the nearby resort Passo del Tonale, destination for lovers of skiing, viable even in summer thanks to the lifts on the Presena glacier, which has allowed residents of Vermilion to undertake all activities related tourist influx.
Especially edited the new sports centre, where winter over to the camp by skating is prepared an excellent track for cross-country skiing among the most beautiful of the valley. In summer you can make sunbathing on the edge of the artificial lakes made using water from the nearby river Vermigliana.
